The Mayfair Fitness Center offers a variety of cardio and weight training equipment for ages 14 years old & up. For ages 14-17, a high school ID is required.
Registration can be taken in-person when Mayfair or the Community Center are open. Online registration can be done at www.wpdparks.org/registration
Silver Sneakers now offered at Mayfair Fitness Center!
The Westchester Park District has recently partnered with Tivity Health to offer Silver Sneakers! You can qualify for a free fitness membership if you are age 65 or older and a member of Tivity Health with Medicare Advantage or a supplemental health care program. Mayfair is offering a large series of new and returning classes, including Boot Camp, 4 Toned and Strong classes (with a new Monday night PM class), Tabata, Total Body Challenge, 20/20/20, Step Works, Yoga, Strong Women and Sassy Ones.

FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Total Body Challenge NEW! - Body challenge yourself! We will build up endurance, strength, shape and condition our muscles through a series of exercises focusing on different muscles from the shoulders all way to the ankles.
20/20/20 - NEW! - Mix up your workout which is divided into 20 minutes of low-impact cardio exercises to increase your heart rate, 20 minutes of toning to shape and strengthen your muscles and then finishing with 20 minutes of stretching and core work.
Pilates - NEW! - Stand taller! Learn the fundamentals of Pilates. This class works your "powerhouse" - the area of the body from where all energy and movement stems, including the core. It will help you make gains in balance, strength and flexibility for the entire body. Props may be included to assist in movements.
Tabata - The most intense HITT training there is for men and women. Each workout is 4 minutes with a work/rest interval built in. You will train both cardio and strength without any wasted time! You will use your body, plus weights, barbells, slides, and balls.
Toned & Strong - Become stronger and leaner than ever by challenging your muscles, core stability and balance with free weights, bars, fitness balls with some Pilates added in.
Sassy Ones - Formerly known as Senior Exercise, this program includes safe and effective exercises that will increase flexibility, strength, and improve cardiovascular condition.
Step Works - Do bodywork, yet work within your fitness level-modifications given. We alternate between classic step and step intervals to create body change.
Yoga - learn breathing techniques, poses, meditation, and relaxation. Individual and partner poses learned as you reap the benefits of yoga.
Strong Women NEW! - This class will allow women to work on developing greater confidence and becoming more comfortable with their bodies and themselves in a fitness environment. This six-week class that lasts 1.25 hours will use a fitness classroom and the fitness center. It will teach important stretches, proper form using free weights and the use of various equipment in the fitness center with other women. This class includes the bonus of a fitness membership for the six-week length of the class. This class is for females only, does not take drop-ins and is for a maximum of 8 participants.
Stretch and Activate COMING THIS FALL! - A class devoted to stretching the muscle/fascia of the body to achieve flexibility, enhance mobility and strength, and release pain. Learn why you suddenly lost range of joint motion and how to fix it. Registrants must be able to get on the floor and back up without assistance. 30 minute class/drop-in fee is $4.
Boot Camp NEW! - Get motivated to be fit with the attitude that "You can do it!" This fitness challenge will maximize your workout. We will tone, sculpt and condition at the same time to improve strength and confidence. We will use various types of equipment, blending in circuit training and group exercises.
For sessions, class minimum must be met in order for the program to facilitate walk-in registration of $8.00 per class. Sassy Ones and Stretch and Activate are a $4 drop-in fee. Water and a personal/yoga mat are strongly recommended for most classes. Fix Your Posture for a Pain-Free Life! - "Stand up straight!" "Stop slouching!" Sound familiar? Are you always reminded to sit straight or do you experience back pain, neck pain or fatigue? You may have FHP - Forward Head Position aka Tech Neck. Learn a simple program to help reverse FHP and improve your posture and energy levels! Offered in several evening sessions.
Movement Therapy - This structured adult dance class, using chairs for seated work, a ballet bar for balance and across the floor work aims to improve balance, coordination and overall physical & mental health. Assists with Parkinson's and Neurological Disease. Offered in 7-week sessions.
Activate Your Golf Swing - This is a personal training program designed to enhance the body's ability to perform on the golf course and will look at patterns - the way you address the ball, the rotation of your body as you swing the club and your stability. The assessments will check glute strength, shoulder and hip rotation, lateral stability and breathing to remain calm during the round. The techniques are simple and you can activate before, during or after your round. You will see how your body rotation is improved and how much further the ball goes! Take your game to a new level of enjoyment! Once registered, you will be contacted to set up a time slot.
